Things to Know Before Moving Day

Things to do before the movers arrive:

  • Have cars, etc. moved from the driveway/garage before the van arrives.

  • The front doors of the property are to remain open during the entire loading and unloading operation.

  • Pets must be kept in a secure area until loading/unloading is completed.

Miscellaneous:

  • A Sunrise Movers employee prior to transport must verify the condition of audio/video/computer equipment in working order.

  • All computers and computer accessories must be disconnected/connected by the customer. Sunrise Movers is not responsible for reconnection of VCR to TV or any other stereo/audio video or computer equipment.

  • All small loose articles (knicknacks, ect.) must be boxed.

  • All time delays due to traffic conditions, weather, tied-up elevators, parking restrictions, storage, ect. will be the responsibility of the moving customer.

  • No hazardous material or flammable liquids or materials can be transported in any truck (per Missouri Department of Transportation). This includes: biomedical materials, propane, gasoline, alcohol, chemicals, guns, ammo, and open top boxes.

  • Engine blocks, landscaping material, fountains, statues, firewood, large pots, ect. will not be transported unless prior arrangements have been made. Children are not permitted in the trailer or on the ramps of the trailer. Waterbed tubes/mattresses must be drained completely.

  • For safety reasons; we cannot wear booties when moving into new construction homes.

The following are not insured by Sunrise Movers:

  • Damage to furniture due to overgrown shrubbery, sprinklers on timers, etc.

  • Boxes not professionally packed.

  • Boxes previously moved by someone else and not repacked.

  • Leased office equipment (medical, copiers, ect.)

  • Damage incurred by heat/cold/rain or any other act of God.

  • Plants, live or artificial, planters, fire pots, etc.

  • Furniture that is not factory manufactured and assembled.

Should damage occur:

  • All claims must be made within 72 hours of the move.

  • Sunrise Movers handles all damages on a Repair or Replace basis, depending on the contract option you select.

  • For a full list of these options and their details, please refer to your contract or the “Damage Policy” section of our website.

  • Sunrise Movers does not handle Repairs & Replacements in house; the customer/client will file a claim and then be REIMBURSED ACCORDING TO RECEIPT FOR R&R.

Equipment provided per truck:

  • 50 pads

  • 3 dollies

  • Plastic wrap

  • Wall straps

  • Forearm straps

  • Shoulder straps

  • 4 - wheel dolly

  • Piano board (if needed)

  • Rubber bands

  • Bungee cords

  • Floor runner

  • Door jammer

Payment:

The only acceptable payment is cash, personal/company

check or credit card (3% processing fee applies if payment is made by card). Payment is required upon completion of

the move.
